Thread: Advantage of having good content

Hi,
Creating, editing, and promoting unique high-quality content is difficult and time consuming but in the end golden rule of seo is that content is the King. It's not just because of a Search Engine but it's for your site visitors also. A page that is read by people is better than a page that is read by search engines spiders and bots.

It's not only SEO, you have to think about many factors that will make your site popular :

1. If your website is having something really unique then people would like to suggest it to their friends.
2. Other webmasters would like to create a link of your website on their sites.
3. Your site visitors will start trusting on your site and they will look forward for the next content and will keep coming again and again.
4. Assuming you have been listed out by any search engine but net surfer will click only that page whose content snippet would look more unique and interesting.

So remember that always write your content after going a serious thought. Keep your title, keywords, link text, meta tags up-to-date and unique and interesting.

Good point of discussion.I appreciate you for having attention for content.We all know that google loves fresh content.So Fresh and unique content creation one of the most important factors of SEO.

Even if duplicate content is not penalyzed by Google, it would be great to use unique content for a website for two main reasons: Google and visitors like unique, natural content, why shouldn't benefit from this?

I think often in our SEO efforts we overlook the most important factor in SEO which is solid content. Good content leads to quality linkbacks, traffic, etc. I think people too often get caught up with meta tags, link building etc. (which is all fine) when at the end of the day quality content is what gets search rankings.

Yup, yup, yup. Content is king once more. The best linking strategy in the world will fall on it's knees if you don't have SOMETHING WORTH LINKING TO. Social networking has taken up the gauntlet from traditional word of mouth. Google's reason for being has always been to promote the best but, as we all know, Google can be gamed: if you know what Google wants you can climb the ranks. But if your content is lacking, real people will lose interest and you'll start slipping down as others beat you about the face with killer content. Be the best and be generous with your knowledge. Become an authority on something and provide useful, compelling content that has life. People will love it, they'll pass it on and you'll start climbing for the RIGHT reasons. Love it.

Yes I totally agree. No point in having high search rankings if people are just gonna bounce off your site because you have no content.

We are maintaining blog for a client from past 6 years. We learned this about content.
- New Content is always a welcome
- Duplicate Content with giving proper credibility is also welcome.
- Your website visitors should gain relevant information from your content for which they have subscribed.

There are other factors that makes any content valuable for Search Engine and not just original content.

The better the content the better search engines rank your sites...

Before you complain about creating a good content, ask yourself this first. Am I writing about what I'm really interested in, or am I just writing to get better PR values and stuffing keywords? Google never actually looks at keyword density. You can ask any SEO. Their answer would be the same as mine. You also may have noticed this but the sites that are ranking high for keywords on the SERP, some of them actually have low PR values, and yet, they have huge amount of traffic and low bounce rates. The reason is, if I were looking for a blog about the thing the I love, let's say I was looking for a blog about windsurfing, and I've managed to find one, I can immediately feel if the blog owner is really interested in what he's writing and therefore, I can see him as a reliable source for information on his niche. Also a food for thought, Google's page has a lot of SEO flaws. They themselves admitted it. Yet, they started with a very user-friendly interface and content, which attracted a lot of users to it. Bottomline is, prioritize you're authenticity to your visitors by writing about what you love and I guarantee you, you've already won.

Actually, the point would be that content should always be written for humans, rather than bots. Remember, the goal is to get people to use the link, not just have it displayed. Google tried to remember us about that with the new [URL="http://www.mecatronx.com/2010/04/google-webmaster-tools-update/"]update to webmaster tools[/URL] that clearly marks the distinction between impressions and clickthrough. A lot of newbies had a little shock reading thos numbers...

Good contents not only help you get higher ranking and conversion but they also allow you to get links from other blog owners or websites.
