Default Difference between cache: and site:

Can anyone help to explain my problem

If i do a search on google using
    site:

all the link pages for this site appear. for example
    page1
If i now do a search using google on individual link pages again for examle
    cache:

googles says this page is not cached

I thought searches using site: gave all the pages on that site cached by google

    Can Anyone explain

    Thanks in advance

Give it time, firstly do you have any pages cached, sometimes after a crawl it takes a while for all the pages to be updated and at times a cache is lost, this is how google remembers your pages construction and appearance, it does not mean it will not be found within an organic search results window.

Sometimes my pages are cached and some caches are not held, but ultimately they'll all be in there somewhere.
