Thread: Tips for SEO Friendly Website Designing

Most of the web-designer make the website but don't keep in mind the concept of SEO. Thus the site is not SEO friendly. Here I have given some of the tips that how a webmaster make a SEO friendly websites.


1. Get your own domain-name and hosting services. Don't use free hosting blogger, word press or any other.
2. Naming the web page with relevant title. Use underscore or hyphen between words.
3.The Meta Tags Title should not have more than 60 characters.
4. Don't use more than 20 keywords on a page.
5. Use word tracker, or AdWords and keywords suggestion tool to find keywords that would suite your site.
6. Use your keywords in the alt tags of images.
7. Always have a Site Map page. So that, user can easily navigate the website.
8. Title, Description and keywords must be relevant and to the point.
9. Cascade Style Sheet is a better alternative for size, color and font tags.
10. Avoid using heavy images, Flash Movie, Shock Wave Files and java script. Use java script as an external file.

well explained.. google webmaster guidelines also have some good points to consider when it comes to designing website..

What do you mean by this? Using underscore or hyphen between words on the Title Page? or maybe you are telling, about the domain or url...

I'm pretty sure that means this.. for example..

Which is a good point, not having them would look like this..

Yes a nice list, but all i would suggest is this:
Find the keyword(s) you want to optimise your pages for.. mainly your homepage. Make sure people are searching for these keywords(s) Keyphrases. Find out how much competition there is also. Basically do a search yourself and checkout the top few competitors websites and look how they have done it! Then simply do what they have done only better!! Sometimes this isn't achievable on your budget, but anything is achievable!!!

If they are using over 20 keywords, try a few less see how you go... if it doesn't workout after a few weeks, change it to a few more. I don't think there's a limit, but yes it can look bad maybe. Depends how cleverly you can disguise them!

As for the site map point, i have never used the sitemap to find my way around a webpage, although i see more and more websites with the sitemap link somewhere on the page. The reason for this i believe is so all your pages are linked together better for flowing the PR through the website, and getting a few more backlinks to each page.

Yeah, its better to choose 2 or 3 high traffic keywords and concentrate on hitting top spot for those first, in my experience, you can always target more later.

i thought that this is the best post i ever read regarding SEO. These all tips are according to the Google rules and regulations that's why if you make a site, with following these tips you can get better results.
