One of the most important thing for search engine is how long you stay, more you stay more you gain credits. If visitors close your page as soon as they arrive search engine react and move your domain down the serp.

The higher a web site page ranks in the results of a search the greater the chance that to gain traffic and visitors. But gaining page rank is the hardest part for SEO tactics. You can add backlinks to your site but it doesn't necessary mean that those tactics are good one. You have to consider the sites that you are joining with, make sure that it is relevant to your site. Avoid black hat technique such as link farm, spamdexing, article spinning and the famous keyword stuffing. If those tactics will be avoided it will lead you to a good place on any search engine sites such as google, ask, yahoo or bing.
