How often to guest comment/post on forums

Without looking too spammy how often should you post on forums with anchored signature links? I am currently posting on four forums (including this one) which have anchored keywords in the signature. How oft6en should I make posts without looking to spammy. All the posts are genuine/helpful and not just utter rubbish.

The same goes for posting guest comments on dofollow blogs. How often should I do this.

The forums I post on are not relevant to my niche, but I have chosen these because those that are related hardly get any posts or do not offer signature links.

Also what other methods can you suggest for back links that would help other than article submission and directory entries.

If you have the time to comment on forums then you should do it as much as possible. However the best plan of action is to build a schedule so that you gain a reputation as being a regular contributor and you so you can concentrate on building your own quality content. Try to do some research on forums, blogs, press releases, articles that are within your sites niche so that you can gain some industry knowledge plus build genuine links. Also network on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook use linkwheels...link building takes time, dedication and persistent. I am just starting my company up myself and just reading back what I have written is exchausting in itself but it has to be done for long term business presence
