How effective is Yahoo Answer as for SEO purpose?

I don't see much point to it as they have no follow attribute attached to link so no juice from Google

the only point in using yahoo answers to generate site traffic is to get people to your website through direct referrals. All links are nofollowed so it will not improve your pagerank, or serps within google.

HOWEVER - building a good profile as a top responder, does have the potential to yield a lot of traffic, as long as it is relevant to the query.

it's only for traffic.

I started on Monday two Yahoo Answers campaign to promote a dating website and a webdesign one , already have some "best answers", linked my profiles with the Twitter accounts, don't know if will mean something good or bad, but why not trying also?

I agree with both previous answers. most popular sites have <no follow> links. From SEO point of view there is no benefits. BUT answering questions on Yahoo is extreemely important to build your reputation as an expert in your field and it will drive direct traffic from real people who search "yahoo answers" for the quetions you answered.
Finally I shoudl mention that there is an argument taking place now saying that google still count the nofollow links as part of your website popularity ?! I will belive that argument only when google sayit clearly.

Traffic from yahoo answer is very low compare to other sites.

I have heard the same argument regarding nofollow links still carrying some value . I myself feel that all links have some value and give you a rounded link profile in the eyes of the search engines

I gave up the Answers campaign on Yahoo, I will reconsider my strategy but with no Yahoo Answers involved.

yahoo answer isn't too good in SEO, as its niether send enough traffic nor its helpful for back links. so i don't think yahoo answer si much helpful in SEO.

I posted links in Yahoo Answers last year. It brought some traffic occasionally but no real boost in the search results, but lately I have noticed that a number of my answers have been scraped and posted on other websites with my link in tact. Some of these links are passing link juice

We are not have much traffic from yahoo answer than other sites.

And yahoo answer is not profitable for back-links.

Yahoo answer is just another source of traffic as far as SEO is concerned apart from it it doesn't have much use in SEO.

Links from Yahoo answer are Nofollow so its don't help in SEO but helps in traffic.

Yahoo answers generates traffic to the site and it is shown in terms of organic search in your analytic report of the site. If your answers are selected best it also helps in terms of SEO.
