Thread: CONTEST: redesign the seoforums.org blog!

Hi Folks,

Im starting a $100 contest, to redesign our [URL="http://seoforums.org/seo-blog/"]SEO Blog[/URL] - its the one part of the site left that I havent really optimized too much, either from a frontend/UX or SEO perspective, but over the next few weeks all of that is going to change!

So, the design brief is:

1) the header and footer must remain the same as the ones on the rest of the site
2) GO WILD!

Im open to pretty much any design suggestion/direction - as long as its easy and clear to navigate, and makes provisions for category pages and so on.

Please submit your designs on THIS THREAD ONLY - do NOT PM me with your designs etc as I do not have time to respond to people individually until Ive selected which designer to use.

Goes nicely with the current overall theme, but is more eye-catching than the current blog has.

Good design, and thanks for the entry - its pretty much the same as the current design, but it is more eyecatching I will give it that.

Im considering moving away from the box design that its got right now, perhaps something more traditional if you like, more like the great blog that seomoz currently have.

You mean like their frontpage or blog?
Their blog is quite a mess and unreadable, at least for me.

If you meant like frontpage, I could do something like that also, but not sure how it's going to "fit" with everything else. Especially because of rounded corners.

I was specifically meaning the blog - perhaps the thing that Im not liking at the moment is the box style of the current one Im running here, and prefer the list format they employ.

still Im open to suggestion

actually mate, I posted that last post without seeing the above, which is pretty close to what Im looking for, but I cant help but feel that its still missing something...

Unfortunately, I can't come up to anything significant to add at the moment.

When no-one posts an entry, that you are totally happy with, the contest never ends?

Im leaving this as an open ended contest - Ive not yet seen a design that I want to move to, although the submission above by Bauss is good, its just not "enough" for me to redesign that site section. sorry!
