Default Subdomains vs. Individual domains

I currently have 11 domain names - all differnet subjects, from forex to snoring, working on adsense revenue and clickbank affiliates.

they are all currently hosted under one account - the FREEFOREXSUCCESSPLANS.com account is a delux GoDaddy account and has room for everything (all the other domains) and it is considerably cheaper to host it this way.

but now I am wondering is it hurting my page ranks. does it matter to the search engines that they are all subdomains of freeforexsuccessplans? am I being penny wise but pound foolish here?

I would love some input on this.

thanks,
Win Dogwood

There's a thread somewhere with some really good information on domain structure. I'll try and dig it out.

Hi Winston, Ive just re-read your post - can you confirm something, are you talking about hosting different domains on one hosting plan, or different sub-domains of the same domain on different hosting plans?

Thank you - being so new to this I get confused as to how to communicate what I mean effectively. Learning a new language is a trip.

I am talking about hosting different domains on one hosting plan. The hosting plan "belongs" to one of the domains. The rest of the domains "live"
in folders off the main domain's tree.

My question is how will the links between domains hosted this way be looked by Google? Is there a benefit of hosting the domains on different plans?

For example http://stockmarketbookie.com is hosted under http://freeforexsuccessplans.com How will links between these two sites be viewed by Google and is there a "cost" of doing it the way I am or a benefit of hosting them seperately?

Thanks for making me say it another way - everything helps.

google has no knowledge that they are on the same hosting plan - BUT - if your sites are all on the same IP address, then google will know!

You need to check with your webhost whether its all on the same IP address,

'I currently have 11 domain names - all differnet subjects, from forex to snoring, working on adsense revenue and clickbank affiliates."
So you url redirect the traffic from your domain to a subdomain on your hosted site? or to the index?

I think, in general, it may make your hosted domain interesting to the bots, they like getting lots of different types of information from one place. But, it will probably hurt you in individual search results because there wont be as much 'related' information on your site as a competitor may have. Wiki 'okapi bm25'. Thats how they judge you.

Really I don't think it makes any difference. Sub domains are often related to the main domain often being the company name so interlinking is expected between the sub-domains/services. Your not going to be able to interlink with different class C ip... that's just overkill.
