Default SEO Content Optimization

Text (Content) Optimization

Every web page needs its content, without content there is nothing for the spider to index - but the content should also be unique, well written and keyword rich. The correct keyword density is particularly important, but thats a constantly variable ratio that depends on overall page length (in words, not pixels!) and the particular keywords that you are targetting.

To get a good idea of the optimal keyword density of the terms that you are targetting its advisable to do a search for the keyword string in question, open all 10 of the first page results and run them through the keyword density tool that comes with SEOquake. That tool is particularly interesting because it splits out rather well single and multiple keyword strings and compare the overal percentage between the top results.

Once you know have done that you should target the average percentage of the top 3 or 4 pages to +/- 0.25% with keywords distributed naturally between the text (in content) - with at least one iteration of the term right at the very start or as close as possible of the text on page, an iteration in your H1 text and it repeated in the title tag for the page.

Once you get used to this stlye of SEO Copywriting then it comes fairly naturally so dont worry!

Default keywords

In respect to your post about the keywords, I do agree that the keywords are essential to help your site to be in first page of any search engine , but for me its the quality of the content that really plays a great role in SEO.

You have your point that they should go hand in hand together ..quality of the content and well chosen keywords. Thanks

Keep a track on the density of the keywords used in content, keep it original and updated. If you are posting images do use alt tags and title tags, that will also help and act as keywords.

Here are some ways on how to develop good writing skills in English.

1) Read Books.

If you’re an avid reader, then this should not be a problem for you. Reading books helps you get a better grasp of the English language. You’re able to see how people use certain words or construct sentences apart from the examples on your language handout or references. Plus, you’ll also gain more confidence in your own writing style.

If you’re not a fan of books, you can always read short stories or feature articles online. Even some magazines will help you develop good writing skills in English.

2) Start Writing.

If you want to develop good writing skills in English, you’re going to have to write something at some point. A lot of people who keep journals are able to practice their English very well. I suggest you do the same as well.

If you prefer typing to actual writing, that’s not a problem either. Your writing skills will not be impeded by whatever method you choose to use. Writing in a notebook will not necessarily make you a better writer than typing on your computer. However, stick to the one you’re more comfortable with.

If you don’t want to write a diary, try writing essays. In my case, I often enjoy writing “what if” essays. Ask yourself a “what if” question and answer it in essay form. This way, you won’t run out of ideas and tire of the exercise immediately.

3) Put Your Work Out There.

Part of the ways on how to develop good writing skills in English is feedback. How else would you know how good or bad your work is unless you show it to others? A lot of people fear this stage because they don’t really want to hear others criticize their work.

However, that is part and parcel of the whole process. It’s like the story of “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Do you really want to live the rest of your life wearing no clothes just because you can’t handle a little honesty?

It’s natural to be a little apprehensive about showing your work to others, which is why I suggest you only show it to those people who you really trust. They will give you the honest feedback you need without mocking you for your efforts.

Even successful authors need to keep learning how to develop good writing skills in English. You can’t remain stagnant just because you’re too lazy to read or write or too afraid to hear what other people think. You have a lot more potential than you realize.

I've never really paid attention to keyword density in terms of a percentage. When I write content I try to use keywords, but I also try to write interesting, persuasive text for readers. Remember, no matter how good your SEO tactics are, the final decision to purchase will always be made by a real human, so it's important to write for readers.

^ Exactly. Even if you can somehow get your website ranked highly using poor content, the actual PERSON reading the content is the most important audience. A real human being wants well-written, easy-to-understand content.

Hi,

There are aspects of the optimization process that gain and lose importance. Content optimization is no exception to this. Through the many algorithm changes that take place each year, the weight given to the content on your pages rises and falls. Currently incoming links appear to supply greater advantage than well-written and optimized content. So why are we taking an entire article in this series to focus on the content optimization?

While there are many characteristics of your content that are in the algorithmic calculations, there are a few that consistently hold relatively high priority and thus will be the focus of this article. These are:

1. Heading Tags
2. Special Text (bold, colored, etc.)
3. Inline Text Links
4. Keyword Density
